Help us Furnish the Sumba Children's House!

This is the new dormitory for underprivileged children who must travel to distant villages in order to attend public school.  It is an official Assemblies of God World Mission project directed by missionary Doug Hollis.

In Indonesia, public schools operate differently than in the western world because parents must pay for their children to attend.  Education is rare in impoverished areas simply because of the cost and the long distance of the schools from home villages.

Because many children simply cannot afford to attend school or afford the transportation costs to get to school the cycle of poverty is perpetuated.

This project is a dormitory for kids from remote villages that could not otherwise afford to attend school.  For the last several years it has been housed in a rented building (and I use the word "building" very loosely), but because of the generous gifts of individuals and churches in the USA this new, safe concrete block building with plumbing and electricity is now complete and nearly ready to move into.

This is a very well constructed, secure and storm-worthy concrete block building.

All that is missing are the furnishings such as kitchen appliances, beds, desks, linens, pillows, kitchenware, water tanks, etc.

You can make a significant difference to the 21 children who presently call a makeshift garage (with tarps as dividing walls) home.  Your tax-deductible gift can help us get the kids moved in asap!

Any size donation will help complete the miracle for these kids and for all future residents!
